5 people, including 2 children, killed in wrong way crash along Texas highway

Five people, including a family-of-four, were killed in a wrong-way crash along a Fort Worth, Texas highway on Sunday.

The family’s car was traveling the wrong way when it struck a pickup truck near Marine Creek Reservoir at around 3:30 a.m.

“I saw the car that was no longer on fire, just unrecognizable. It was so burnt,” a bystander said.

  • The deceased victims were two parents, two kids, and the passenger of the pickup truck. The sole survivor was the driver of the pickup who lost his fiancé in the crash.

    “This is a man that lost the love of his life. To have six people and one person survive, you have to ask yourself, ‘Why me?’” Officer Tracy Carter said.

    Forth Worth Fire Department Official Kyle Clay called the collision “horrific.”

    “Every once in a while, you’re going to run across a certain call. You may get two or three in your career that really stick with you. I’d think this is one of them,” Clay said.
