Philadelphia news, Pennsylvania news.

Three nurses were struck by a car fleeing just after the driver dropped off a shooting victim at a Philadelphia hospital early Saturday.

The suspected Jeep Cherokee plowed into the male nurses as they tended to an injured 28-year-old man brought to Penn Presbyterian Hospital about 4:30 a.m.

A 36-year-old nurse sustained critical wounds and an internal bleeding. The two others, aged 37 and 51, suffered head and back injuries and were listed in stable condition.

The shooting victim also sustained a head injury in the crash, officials said.

Penn Medicine called the incident “devastating” adding that employees “continued working to save the gunshot victim and care for all our other patients even as their own colleagues were suffering and being treated.”
