San Francisco news, California news.

California authorities are warning of dangerously high temperatures as “heat advisories” continue to cover much of the Golden State through Friday.

The National Weather Service issued “Excessive Heat Warnings” in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and the Death Valley National Park.

Temperatures of up to 114 degrees are expected in those areas in what experts described as an exceptionally-warm October weather.

“Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures from 106 to 114 expected,” the NWS San Diego warned.

“An Excessive Heat Warning means that a period of very hot temperatures, even by local standards, will occur. Actions should be taken to lessen the impact of the extreme heat.”
