Atlanta news, Georgia news.

The sudden death of a popular Atlanta rapper was the result of an accidental drug overdose, a Georgia medical examiner’s office said.

Rapper Rich Homie Quan, 33, had a slew of drugs in his system when he passed away at a hospital on Sept. 5.

The drugs included fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine, the Fulton County medical examiner’s office ruled.

Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was found unconscious on the ground by his brother.

The sibling put Quan on the couch and noticed that food was still in his mouth.

A woman later called 911 to report that Quan’s body was cold and he was not breathing.

Quan rose to fame in the mid-2010s through his singles “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and “Type of Way” which would later remixed by Jeezy and Meel Mill.

He then released “Lifestyle” and later “Rich as in Spirit”, his first and only studio album, in 2018.
