Illegal Honduran brothers arrested after crime spree including murder across Missouri

Two Honduran brothers traveling illegally across Missouri were arrested this week after a crime spree that left a man deceased and a woman critically wounded.

Adin Aman Cantarero Benitez, 26, is accused of fatally shooting Jesse Gilmore, 63, at a Jasper County gas station on September 16.

After meeting his brother Jose Cantarero Benitez, the pair drove Gilmore’s stolen vehicle with the victim’s body still inside before dumping the body in a ditch along I-44.

Adin Benitez was arrested the following day for DWI while his brother continued traveling to Hill Park where he critically wounded a woman while attempting to carjack her car.

He was eventually arrested in Kansas City. He and his brother are facing charges including murder, armed criminal action, and robbery.
