A University of North Carolina student was found dead days after she vanished while hiking in South Africa, officials said.
20-year-old Brook Cheuvront went missing on Saturday while hiking at Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town.

A cause and manner of death are unclear but an investigation into Cheuvront’s death has been launched.
On Monday, the SANParks posted on social media about “reports suggesting that there are growing concerns of crime in Table Mountain National Park.”
The post said crime has “drastically deceased” within the last year adding that “unverified reports” are “speculative and may cause unnecessary alarm which undermines worthy and successful efforts.”
