Maryland student, 15, fatally shot in high school bathroom

A Maryland high school student was gunned down in the school’s bathroom Friday during a fight with the gunman.

Warren Curtis Grant, 15, was airlifted to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore where he died from his wounds.

Police said he was shot once in the men’s bathroom at Joppatowne High School during an altercation.

Other students removed the fatally injured boy from the bathroom after the shooting to allow school nurses and the principal to tend to him.

    Police said the gunman was involved in at least 10 prior incidents since 2022.

    “He’s a 16-year-old student at the school. This was his first day, although there were four days into the school year, this was his first day,” Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler said.

    “Our hearts are breaking for the victim and the victim’s family, the circumstances are absolutely terrible, and this should not be happening in schools,” said Harford Public Schools Superintendent Sean Bulson.
