The Florida man believed to have killed a Rice University student before taking his own life this week has left a note explaining his motive, authorities said.

Andrea Rodriguez-Avila, 21, was found dead in her dorm room at around 4:30 p.m. after a concerned relative asked for a welfare check on her.

Avila’s body was found next to that of a 22-year-old Florida man believed to be the perpetrator of the murder-suicide.
