A Staten Island man took his own life after killing his fiancee who looked forward to their marriage.
Priscilla Scarpati, 36, was found dead Tuesday alongside James Guidone, 37, a man she met months ago on a dating website and with whom she planned to start a family.
“She told us he was always talking about killing himself,” Scarpati’s grieving mother said of Guidone.
Police said Scarpati was stabbed to death inside Guidone’s Graniteville home. Her beloved cat was also slaughtered.
A week before the tragedy, Guidone’s great-aunt said Scarpati called her saying he was holding a knife to his throat and threatening to commit suicide.
“When he had the knife to his throat he said, ‘I think she might be pregnant now and if she’s pregnant, I’m not going to be here for the baby,” the woman said.
Scarpati was not pregnant at the time of the murder-suicide. She was living with Guidone after his father and brother were both taken into custody over unrelated offenses.
