Denver news, Colorado news.

A Denver College professor is a suspect in the deaths of his wife and infant daughter, police said.

Regis University professor Nicholas Myklebust, 44, called 911 Monday morning and said he “found his wife on the ground bleeding and their infant daughter not breathing.”

Officers found the wife deceased from apparent blunt force injuries and the 2-month-old infant dead with no visible injuries.

While both victims’ cause of death remains under investigation, Myklebust has been arrested after officers noticed blood and scratches on his knuckles and neck.

Myklebust claimed his wife fell off a stepladder, but paramedics said her injuries were not consistent with a fall.

The associate professor at Regis University allegedly told investigators his relationship with his wife was “great” but that a “personal loss” caused them depression.

Investigators said the personal loss may be the 2021 death of a 9-day-old infant from a cranial fracture.
