San Francisco news, California news.

Three US Army soldiers were killed Friday morning when their car plunged 400 feet down a San Francisco cliff, officials said.

Victims identified as Brylyn Aroma, 36; Angelica Gacho, 28; and Mohammad Noory, 29, were traveling on Highway 1 at around 11 a.m. when their gray sedan fell down the Devil’s Slide cliff.

The highway is known for its hairpin turns and dangerous seaside cliffs, authorities said.

The car landed upside down in an embankment. Two of the deceased were found in the car while a third was recovered the following day.

Investigators believe the car was driven by Noory who worked as an interpreter for the US Army in Afghanistan.

Gacho was a communications specialist for the US Army and Aroma was a US Army medic stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.

“She took the initiative to serve as a bridge between our soldiers and Allied forces,” the First Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment said of Aroma.

“Her language skills and selfless service enhanced the capabilities of the organization during vehicle training and land navigation.”
