Washington DC news, Washington news.

President Joe Biden ignored the growing calls for him to abandon his reelection bid when he announced Friday that he will resume campaigning next week.

Biden, who is isolated at his beach house in Delaware due to his Covid infection, described his rival Donald Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention as a “dark vision for the future” vowing to defeat Trump at the ballot box.

“The stakes are high, and the choice is clear. Together, we will win,” Biden added.

“There is no joy in the recognition he should not be our nominee in November, but the stakes of this election are too high,” McGarvey said.

Sen. Brown said he agreed with “the many Ohioans” who believe Biden should step aside from the 2024 presidential race.

“I think the president should end his campaign,” he said.
