A Georgia boy’s death was ruled a homicide two months after he was found dead in a “borrow pit”, authorities said.
Noah Bush, 8, was found dead in the deep hole at a construction site hours after vanishing from his home with a group of children.
Investigators initially thought Bush had trespassed to the site and drowned “accidentally” but the boy’s family insisted he feared deep water.
An investigation launched by the family’s private detective and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations determined the boy’s death was not an accident.
At least two children, including a 10 and 11 years old, were charged with simple battery, trespassing, involuntary manslaughter and concealing the death of another over Bush’s death.
“This district attorney’s office has committed, that today’s arrest of these juveniles involved is not the end, and it is quite possible that before the conclusion of this day there may be other arrests in this case,” Attorney Francys Johnson said.
“This was not an accidental drowning; this was a homicide.”
