3 killed in collision between bus; truck on Pennsylvania bypass

A deadly crash between a bus and a truck left three people dead early Tuesday morning, authorities in Upper Providence Township, Pennsylvania said.

Officers and paramedics found a transit bus “fully involved in flames” when they responded to the scene on US Route 1 Media Bypass in Delaware County at around 8 a.m.

The collision involved a medium-sized bus and a truck with a roll-on container, authorities said.

The bus driver and two passengers were killed in the crash. Police said the driver was 31 years old while the passengers were aged 60 and 75.

  • The driver was reportedly “heavily trapped in the wreckage,” officials said. He and the two deceased passengers passed away before the first responders’ arrival.

    “Please say a little prayer for all involved,” the police department added.

    The driver of the involved truck was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

    The Upper Providence Township Police Department and the Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the crash.
