Texas man found dead in burning trailer home shot himself to head: Harris Co. Sheriff says

Authorities in Harris County, Texas revealed that a man found dead after a trailer home fire Thursday had committed suicide.

Firefighters responded to a burning home on Thistle Street near Scott Street at around 7:30 p.m.

They encountered smoke and flames coming out from the home once at the scene, the Houston Fire Department said.

  • After extinguishing the blaze, the firefighters found a deceased man with a gunshot wound in the head.

    The medical examiner determined that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

    The victim was a man in his 50s and lived alone in the trailer, police said. Foul play is not suspected in the incident.

    The HFD Arson and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
