Memphis news, Tennessee news.

The family of a Memphis couple is mourning the untimely loss after they died with their 5-year-old son who had just graduated kindergarten in a tragic crash last week.

Santos Morales, his wife Magdalena, and their son Santos Enrique all perished in the Wednesday crash as they headed from Louisville, Kentucky to their Memphis home.

“The day of the accident, they were coming back to Memphis, but they didn’t get a chance to make it to their house before the accident had happened,” said niece Arely Cruz Morales.

Police said a wrong-way driver collided with the family’s Subaru on I-240 leading to four fatalities. The wrong way driver also died.

“It’s pretty hard, taking it all at once, because it’s not just one person, it’s three,” Morales said.

“We did have more heartbreak when it came to his son because he was so young.”
