The parents of a 6-year-old Indian boy were arrested this week after he was recovered from a crocodile-infested canal where his mother had thrown him.
Savitri and Ravi Kumar were charged with murder for throwing their disabled son Vinod into the canal late Saturday.
The parents argued over the child’s hearing and speech disabilities before the mother took the decision to get rid of him in the canal in the Indian State of Karnataka.
Police recovered the boy’s half-eaten body from the jaws of a crocodile the following day.
Savitri allegedly blames her husband for her actions telling cops he repeatedly asked her to “throw the child away.”
“My husband is responsible. He kept saying let [Vinod] die,” she said.
“If my husband keeps repeating such things, how much torture could my son endure? But he kept repeatedly telling me to let the child die.”
