Five boys in a stolen vehicle led officers in west Houston on a chase that ended with the death of one of them late Thursday.
The boys were aged 12 and 13 years old, police said adding that their car was first spotted speeding off Richmond shortly before 10 p.m.
As they fled officers, the boys’ car crashed into a vehicle on Richmond Avenue west of South Kirkwood Road.
The speeding car then struck a second vehicle but didn’t stop, crashing into three more cars on Westheimer Road.
Police then saw four boys hopping out of the wrecked vehicle and running away. Two of them were found to have suffered minor wounds.
A fifth boy was found unresponsive in the backseat of the car and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
“All of the suspects are between the ages of 12 and 13 years old. There were five vehicles were hit in total by the suspect vehicle,” HPD Assistant Chief J.L. Anderson said.
“None of these citizens were transported.”
