Tornadoes wreak havoc in Oklahoma killing 2 people including child

A state of emergency was issued for 12 counties in Oklahoma Sunday following dozens of reported tornadoes that left two dead including a child.

Severe storms are battering Oklahoma and several other states including Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas where flood watches and warnings were effective Sunday.

  • The two fatalities were reported in the town of Holdenville, Oklahoma late Saturday. At least four other people were injured.

    “My prayers are with those who lost loved ones as tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma last night,” Gov. Kevin Stitt said.

    The governor issued a state of emergency declaration for 12 counties where crews work to assess the fallout from the tornadoes through rubble and debris.
