An elderly Texas woman was shot to death inside her apartment at a Houston senior living community Saturday afternoon after reporting someone knocking on the door overnight.
Retired teacher Carol Webber, 74, was gunned down at the Treemont Senior Living Community in Houston.
She was found dead at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Her death set her neighbors on edge with many reporting the similar knocks on their doors during late hours.
While no arrests were made in connection to the fatal shooting, relatives of the residents criticized Treemont’s management for the lack of communication with residents and their families.
“If there was actually a shooting here and they are aware of it, which they would have be, I am incredibly upset and would consider moving my mother, hearing that they wouldn’t let families know or the residents,” the daughter of a resident said.
