3 construction workers killed in crash along Pennsylvania interstate

Three construction workers were killed in a crash along a Pennsylvania interstate early Wednesday morning.

The driver of a large box fatally struck the three victims working on the southbound shoulder of Interstate 83 after crashing into a construction vehicle at around 3:25 a.m.

  • The victims’ identities were not immediately disclosed. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the three decedents worked for an agency contractor and were sealing highway cracks at the time of the crash.

    “Right now, we’re just gathering information,” spokesman Dave Thompson said.

    “We’re obviously very shaken by this event.”
