Man dies of electrocution at Alabama apartment complex

An Alabama man died from electrocution Wednesday after he tried to take wiring from an apartment complex, authorities said.

The unidentified man was fatally electrocuted at around 2:40 p.m. at Woodside Condominiums in Center Point, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.

  • “According to initial reports, it is thought a male was taking wiring from an electrical box,” Lt. Joni Money said.

    “Unbeknownst to the subject, the lines were live, despite much of the property being vacant.”

    First responders rushed to the scene and provided life-saving measures but the victim was declared dead at the scene.
