An elderly woman was charged Monday over a deadly crash that left three people dead in San Francisco, police said.
78-year-old Mary Fong Lau was accused of ramming her SUV into a bus stop in the city’s West Portal section Saturday afternoon killing two adults and a child.
An infant is still hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Lau was charged with three counts of felony vehicular manslaughter, felony reckless driving causing bodily injury, and additional traffic violations.
"I've just visited the scene and it is heartbreaking," San Francisco Mayor London Breed posted Saturday.
"We will share more information when we can, but now our focus is on the victims and their families."
