Student passes out; dies on school bus outside NC middle school

A Gaston County, North Carolina student died Thursday after they passed out on a school bus earlier in the morning.

The incident occurred outside Holbrook Middle School in Lowell just before 8 a.m. Thursday when a student was found unconscious on a school bus.

EMS rushed to the scene and provided life-saving measures and Narcan to the student but all their efforts were unsuccessful.

The child died at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Principal Torben Ross said.

    The student’s identity and cause of death have not been released at this time.
