A Georgia toddler was found dead hours after she was kidnapped by her dad, authorities in Macon said.
Officers received reports of an assault on a woman just after midnight and learned that 19-year-old Akiem Jordan beat her and took his 20-month-old daughter.
The father’s car was located about three hours later, seven miles away from the grandmother’s home. He was with a passenger, 20-year-old Rahem Ferrell, police said.
Officers found Jordan holding the unresponsive girl, identified as Bella Jordan, inside the car.
The toddler was pronounced dead at the scene. She appeared to be beaten and stabbed but an official cause of death is pending.
Jordan and Ferrell were arrested in connection to the incident. They face charges of murder and aggravated assault.
Court documents showed that Jordan was arrested in April 2023 after he allegedly stabbed his child’s mother several times with a knife.
