Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley hit back at Donald Trump after he taunted her husband’s absence during a Conway rally on Saturday.
Haley’s husband, Major Michael Haley, is in a yearlong deployment in Africa as a staff officer with the South Carolina Army National Guard since June 2023.
“Where’s her husband?” Trump asked his supporters at a “Get Out the Vote” event.

“Oh, he’s away. He’s away! What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone.”
Haley shared a clip of Trump’s remarks on X and posted her response.
“Michael is deployed serving our country, something you know nothing about. Someone who continually disrespects the sacrifices of military families has no business being commander in chief,” she wrote.
