A Texas mother is behind bars over the torture of her four children that nearly ended with the youngest being put in a hot oven.
Lul Top, 36, was arrested Thursday after a SWAT standoff that saw her barricading herself in an attic for an hour.
Her three children, aged 3, 6, 9, and 10 years old, were removed from the rented Allen home on January 8.
The kids told detectives that their alcoholic mother regularly “tortured” them, cut them, and threatened them with knives.
The older child revealed that he once had to physically fight his mother off after she grabbed his 3-year-old sister and tried to put her in a hot oven.
The 4-year-old child recalled witnessing the incident. One of the boys said Top held a knife to his tongue and forced him to drink alcohol.
Investigators added that the terrified siblings would hide all knives at the home from their mother.
A neighbor said that there was “always weird stuff” happening at the home Top rented around a year ago.
“Always weird stuff over there. The police were always there,” he said.
“Seeing the kids playing out in the back by themselves, no supervision. And to know that was actually happening, it’s sad. It’s really sad.”
