President Joe Biden joked Monday that Donald Trump asked to debate him because “he’s got nothing else to do.”
“If I were him I would want to debate me too,” Biden added.
The President made the comments during a stop at No. 1 Boba Tea in Las Vegas hours after Trump told former Fox News host Dan Bongino that he wanted a presidential debate sooner than later.
“But I’d like to call for immediate debates, I’d like to debate him how because we should debate,” Trump told the podcaster.
The Presidential hopeful statements were also taken sarcastically by his Republican rival’s campaign.
Nikki Haley has repeatedly asked Trump to debate her and reiterated her request this weekend.
“We’re thrilled to see that Donald Trump has finally acknowledged the importance of debates,” spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cuba said.
“Now it’s time for Trump to man up and agree to debate Nikki Haley.”
