Girl, 2, found dead in home of disgraced Mass. Police lieutenant who admitted to raping another child

A deceased 2-year-old girl was found inside the home of a disgraced Massachusetts lieutenant who is currently behind bars for the aggravated rape of a child under the age of 12.

Police received a call about an unresponsive toddler at around 10:20 a.m. Friday and responded to the home of former Winthrop Police Lt. James Feeley.

Two EMTs performed lifesaving measures on the girl before she was rushed to the hospital in the fire chief’s own vehicle.

“They made the decision to transport this child to Massachusetts General Hospital in the back of the fire chief’s vehicle,” Police Chief Terence Delehanty said.

  • “The fire department did a heroic job today and made decisive decisions under emergency conditions to get this child the medical treatment necessary as soon as possible.”

    Suffolk County authorities are not suspecting foul play in the toddler’s death indicating that “no signs of physical trauma” was found on the deceased child.

    The death at Feeley’s home came one month after he was arrested for raping a child under 12.

    Feeley had served with the department for 21 years and was a foster parent.
