A Florida woman was arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder after she allegedly admitted to smothering her terminally ill boyfriend with a pillow last month.

A longtime friend of 69-year-old Margaret Kearny told police that she admitted to killing Gary Polony, who suffered rectal cancer, on Dec. 20 and expressed “disgust” at caring for him.

“The witness relayed the defendant told her she planned to cover the victim with a blanket while he was dead in bed, sleep on the couch, and when the nurse came the following day, they would assume the victim died in his sleep,” the affidavit states.
