A Texas man was shot dead by officers in Lubbock late Friday after he allegedly charged at them with knives.
Manuel Guillen, 34, died from injuries sustained when he crawled out of a window and ran at officers responding to a report of an assault.
Police Spokesperson Amber Edwards said Guillen had assaulted and threatened his mother who managed to escape before officers arrived.

When Guillen refused to stop his attack and drop the knives, the officers opened fire.
“He continued to charge at the officers and they employed deadly force,” Edwards said.
The shooting involved two officers who have been placed on leave pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
