Baltimore news, Maryland news.

A Baltimore teen and his parents were indicted Tuesday over an October shootout outside a high school that started when they brought a gun.

Prosecutors alleged that William Dredden, 40, and Tiffany Harrison, 37, drove their 15-year-old to Carver Vocational Technical High School on October 27 and helped him attack a student outside the school.

The couple and their son allegedly struck the victim multiple times with a handgun and their fists before classes began.

As the family left the scene, their son fired several shots wounding two other students; one of the victims fired back, wounding the 15-year-old suspect.

“We need parents to be part of the solution, not the problem,” Baltimore State’s Attorney Ivan Bates said.

“Hear me clear, parents, if you have a child, you must also be responsible for your children’s actions.”

Dredden and Harrison were hit with a dozen counts including first-degree assault, illegally transporting a handgun, and conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree murder. Their juvenile son was indicted in adult court.
