Trump claims Dems are donating to Haley, DeSantis to keep him from becoming presidential nominee

During a town hall event in Davenport, Iowa on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump accused Democrats of donating to his Republican rivals to oust him from the 2024 GOP presidential nomination race.

The 77-year-old was replying to Fox News host Sean Hannity who asked about his reaction to President Biden’s revelation that he would have retired if Trump weren’t running for President again.

“Well, I think somebody gave him a talking point they thought that would sound good,” the Republican presidential hopeful said.

    “I hear that Democrats are contributing to Ron DeSanctus – or Ron DeSanctimonious – to Ron DeSanctus’ campaign.”

    “That’s the only thing they’re good at – cheating on elections and great talking points. They say, ‘We want to run against Trump.’ They want to run? Well, we did really well in 2016. And we did so much better in 2020. The person they don’t want to run against is us.”
