A Washington judge has on Thursday denied the release of a 13-year-old boy who
stands accused of fatally stabbing his father over the last weekend.
Travis Dash was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside his home on Saturday. His other children reported hearing him arguing before his death.
The juvenile suspect’s lawyers told the judge that he suffered years of abuse at his father’s hands and that he is not getting the psychological care he needs at jail.
Dash was reportedly a long-term drug user and had a lengthy rap sheet including domestic violence offenses.
The juvenile faces murder charges over Dash’s death. His next hearing was scheduled for November 30.
