A 17-year-old Las Vegas boy was fatally beaten by a mob of students earlier this month and authorities announced Tuesday the arrests of eight suspects in connection with the “heinous” attack.
Jonathan Lewis Jr. was beaten to death on November 1 in an alley near Rancho High School where he and the eight assailants studied.
The horrific footage of the assault went viral on social media as investigators revealed the boys were fighting over stolen items including headphones and a vape pen.
Authorities insisted that the investigation was “far from over” and asked the community to help identify additional suspects.
“I just love my children with all my heart, and it’s just unimaginable that we could ever come to this point,” Lewis’ grieving dad said.
