Bus collides into building in Seattle killing bystander; wounding several passengers

A King County Metro bus crashed into a building Saturday afternoon killing a woman and wounding a dozen other victims in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle.

Police said that bus first collided head-on with a Saturn at around 3:30 p.m. critically wounding the 31-year-old driver of the car.

The bus then slammed into a building killing a woman standing outside and wounding at least eight passengers.

  • Residents said the collision occurred in a vacant portion of the building and there was no significant damage to the property.

    They gathered outside the building watching as firefighters cut off the top of the wrecked Saturn to extradite the badly wounded driver.

    “I go on walks daily where I pass by that intersection,” one said. “It makes me count my blessings.”
