Emmy-winning ‘General Hospital’ star Billy Miller died of suicide: Mother reveals

The grieving mother of Billy Miller revealed Monday that the three-time Daytime Emmy winner died of suicide at the age of 43.

“He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease,” Patricia Miller told the late star’s fans in a statement to Soap Opera Digest.

“He loved his family, his friends, and his fans but in the end, the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life.”

    “I wish they were but they just aren’t,” she added.

    ‘The Young and the Restless’ star suffered from manic depression, his agent said. His tragic death came just two days before his 44th birthday.

    “I want to personally thank the many fans & personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers & condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ,” the devastated mother concluded.
