Suspect arrested in Minnesota after shooting Iowa officer to death

Authorities in Algona, Iowa are mourning the loss of one of theirs after a suspect shot an officer to death on Wednesday night.

8-year veteran Kevin Cram was killed by Kyle Ricke after he told him that he was under arrest on a warrant for harassment.

  • Cram, 33, was rushed to Kossuth Regional Health Center where he was declared dead.

    43-year-old Ricke fled to Kossuth County in Minnesota where he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

    “Our thoughts and prayers are for the family, friends, Algona Police Department, and community of Algona, Iowa, with heartbreaking news of the Algona Police Officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty last night,” Sioux County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.
