North Carolina authorities said Wednesday that the body found floating in Lake Jordan last month has been identified.
The victim was identified as Hadeel Hikmat, a 34-year-old Iraqi woman who had just moved to the US last year.

Hikmat’s remains were identified through fingerprints after she was found floating in the Chatham County lake on August 29. Foul play is suspected in her death.
Two homes were searched in connection with the case including one that belonged to Hikmat’s in-laws.
