Carjackers fleeing cops plow car into innocent people killing HPD sergeant’s mother

The mother of a Houston Police sergeant was killed and four others were rushed to hospitals following a multi-car crash involving carjackers on Thursday.

The two suspects were fleeing cops on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Van Fleet Street when they plowed a stolen Dodge Charger into three cars stopped at a red light at around 10:20 a.m.

Police were alerted by the Charger’s owner to the suspects’ location. The woman said that she was carjacked by two people near Hobby Airport late on Wednesday and managed to track down her stolen car.

The carjackers were also injured in Thursday’s crash but are expected to recover. Police said that they would be charged with murder.

    said.

    “I ask our city to pray for him and members of his family as we seek justice in this incident.”
