Bystanders save 3 kids from submerged car after mom intentionally drove car into pond

A Virginia mother was arrested after she nearly killed her three kids inside a submerged car, authorities said.

Witnesses caught the shocking incident on video leading to the arrest of Reality Goodwin who allegedly drove her car into a pond with her three sons inside.

Bystanders rushed to the rescue of the three young boys, aged 2, 4, and 7, cutting their seat belts as the mother fled the scene.

  • Police Chief Steve Drew commended the quick and heroic intervention of the Good Samaritans that saved the innocent children from drowning in the submerged car.

    “Because of your efforts, these three children escaped this incident unharmed,” Drew said.

    “I am so grateful for your quick thinking and bravery. I believe your actions saved lives. You are to be commended.”

    Goodwin was reportedly combative while being arrested. She was hit with a slew of charges including three counts of child neglect and reckless driving.
