St. Cloud news, Florida news.

A Florida mother is behind bars after she allegedly admitted to strangling her 13-year-old son to death earlier this week.

37-year-old Jasmin Kennedy “spontaneously stated that she killed her son” to first responders and officers after a relative called 911 at her St. Cloud home on Monday.

The boy was found dead with markings around his neck consistent with strangulation.

  • “According to our deputies, she had been choking him on the bed,” Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez said.

The sheriff added that police had previously responded to the family’s home for unrelated incidents. Kennedy’s motive remains unclear at this time.

“It’s always a tragedy when someone so young is taken, regardless of how it’s done.

Their life was just taken from them, and they haven’t even begun to live. It just hits home, especially when you have children,” Lopez said.
