One person was killed and 32 injured following a fiery collision involving a tour bus and a car on Mother’s Day, authorities in California said.
The collision occurred on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights at around 5 a.m. between a tour bus and a Nissan SUV.
First responders found the car in flames and pronounced the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle dead at the scene.
Investigators said the vehicle burst into a fireball on impact, adding that the victim became trapped inside.
Officials said 32 passengers onboard the bus were injured, including two in critical condition.
An eyewitness said the crash happened “so quick” that there was no time to try and save the victim.
“Everyone tried to stop, but there was just not enough time. It happened so quickly…a lot of chaos and then just red lights,” another witness said.
