A Massachusetts man has allegedly admitted to a gruesome murder as authorities continue the search for his victim’s body in a Saugus waste recycling facility.
A relative turned 33-year-old Pablo Vicente in after he allegedly confessed to choking his girlfriend, 20-year-old Nayeli Nieves, to death last week in front of their infant and toddler.
Police said that Vicente left the lifeless corpse with the children for three days before returning and wrapping the body in plastic bags. He tossed the body in a dumpster near their home.
Surveillance footage caught Vicente “walking away from the apartment…with a dolly that had a huge, human-sized item wrapped in what appeared to be plastic trash bags with duct tape around it.” When Vicente returned back home, the dolly was empty.
As of Tuesday evening, the body of Nieves remained unaccounted for. Search crews are combing through trash at a Saugus waste recycling facility where they said they had found evidence of the crime.
“He was abusive towards her…There was cases about it going on. They just didn’t do their job. They let him out. He was not supposed to be let out,” a friend of the victim said.
