An Oregon man is behind bars after he allegedly admitted to killing and dismembering a woman he reported missing late last month.
Jamon Peter Fritsch was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of Kara Taylor.
The 49-year-old Washington woman was staying in Oregon City with friends when she vanished on the night of July 25.
Two days after the disappearance, Fritsch reported her missing. But before that, investigators said that he made “multiple trips to Home Depot to purchase zip ties, tarps, a saw blade, a black tote, and contractor bags among other things.”
A search of the suspect’s residence revealed blood in his bedroom, walls, bathroom, and on a saw. On Monday, police said that they are “diligently working to locate and recover” the victim’s remains that were reportedly discarded in several garbage dumps.
Authorities said that Fritsch and Taylor knew each other and were living at the same home. Taylor leaves behind a 22-year-old daughter with special needs.
