Drexel basketball player found dead in apartment on school campus

A Drexel University junior and basketball player was found dead in his apartment on the school apartment on Wednesday.

Terrence Butler's cause of death remains unclear at this time. The 6-foot-7 forward had played seven games during his sophomore season despite dealing with injuries during his sophomore year at Drexel.

“On behalf of the entire Drexel community, we extend our deepest sympathy to Terrence's family, friends, and teammates,” University President John Fry said.

    Butler was described by those who knew him as a “beautiful guy” who loved his “nice family.”

    “Everybody knew him, everybody on campus knew who he was, and he would treat everybody just the same. You know what I mean, good guy, family-oriented.”
