A Minnesota mother has allegedly admitted to brutally killing her 3-year-old daughter on Monday because she was “continuously crying” for food.
The toddler was found unresponsive at around 9:30 p.m. inside a home where her mom, 27-year-old Saud Ali, sat smiling as first responders performed CPR.
The girl was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Detectives learned from the victim's mother that she “shook and suffocated” her, punched her throat, and laid on top of her until she stopped crying for food.
Ali added that the toddler's grandmother usually fed her but that the woman was not home that day. The mother also admitted that she had tried to stab her daughter earlier in the evening.
According to the medical examiner, the girl suffered bite marks and bleeding around her brain. Ali was arrested on second and third-degree murder charges.
