A Birmingham, Alabama child fatally shot himself while playing with a loaded gun early Friday, police said.
Officers responded to Kayden Goldman's home at around 12:55 a.m. and transported the 3-year-old boy to an area hospital where he died at 1:55 a.m.
Investigators said that Kayden was with an adult at the time of the tragedy but that he was in the room by himself.
As the investigation into the deadly incident continues, Kayden's mom is left to deal with unbearable grief.
The woman remembered Kayden as a smart boy who wanted to become a soccer player in the future.
“He liked going to the park and had a crazy obsession for dinosaurs,” she added.
“My baby was so independent and he knew exactly what he wanted. He was a good child. No, he was an excellent child. To know him is to love him.”
