Man struck, killed by train at railroad crossing in Georgia

Authorities in Tucker, Georgia said that a man was found dead next to the train tracks Saturday evening.

The man was likely struck by a CSX train at the intersection of East Ponce de Leon Avenue and Kelton Drive at the railroad crossing.

DeKalb County officers responded to the scene shortly before 8 p.m. and pronounced the man dead.

The investigation into the tragic incident continues as detectives work to determine how the victim ended up on the tracks and whether the death was an accident.

    Earlier this week, a similar accident claimed a 32-year-old man's life on the Upper West Side, New York.

    The victim was fatally struck on Thursday by a 1 train at the 59th Street Columbus Circle station.

    Following the incident, major delays to the 1,2, and 3 trains were reported as police processed the scene.
