The search for a missing Midland woman ended in tragedy Saturday after her body was located three miles off a county road, Texas authorities said.
Madeline Pantajo vanished ten days ago after she returned home from a dinner with friends, the family said.
The 21-year-old's last text messages were with her brother Christian who was planning for his college graduation party.
“She was doing perfect. It was Wednesday when she disappeared and on Saturday was my graduation from Tech. We were texting on how excited we were for us to celebrate that day,” he said.
Police arrested Pantajo's ex-boyfriend Mario Juan Chacon Jr. on murder charges in connection to her death.
Family said that Pantajo and Chacon broke up weeks before the murder while neighbors reported hearing a loud argument on the night of the victim's disappearance.
An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death will be performed in Dallas County.
